Solitaire Race Help - Playing Nertz on AOL's Solitaire Race requires a good connection and a computer with at least a 1.2 GHz processor and 512 MB of
RAM.  It's compatible only with Windows and Mac OS's. And it's only compatible with IE 6+/FireFox 2+ with Java's J2SE 1.4.2 and Safari with Java's J2SE 5.0.

Issue #1. If you are having problems with the game slowing down after you had been playing without any problems or your
cards start sticking/freezing, take the following measures to fix the problem:

It looks like a lot of steps but it only takes like 30-60 seconds to do.

1. First, this is usually a Java issue so make sure you have the most current version of Java by going here: http://www.java.com/en/

2. When you enter a Solitaire Race room your Java icon should pop up in your Quick Launch menu at the bottom right hand corner of your windows task bar. If it
does and you can locate it, go on to the next step. If you can't see it go to your computer's control panel and find the Java icon there.

3. Right click the Icon in the Quick Launch and click on "Open Control Panel".
If you went to the computer's control panel to find the Java platform just double click the icon.

4. Now you are in the Java control Panel.
Under the "General" tab, in the "Temporary Internet Files" tab click the button that reads "Settings...".

5.  A new window should pop up.
You should make sure the box that reads "Keep temporary files on my computer" is un-checked.
If it is checked, un-check it by clicking it and then press the "OK" button at the bottom of the window.

6. You should still be in the Java control panel. Now go to the "Advanced" tab at the top of the window.

7. Click the plus sign with the words "Java Console" next to it.

8. Three option should have dropped down. Select the "Show Console" option by clicking the circle.

9. Press "OK" at the bottom of the window and the Control Panel should disappear.

10. Completely close out and restart your browser.

11. Log back in to a Solitaire Race room and you should see a white window pop up. This is the Java Console. You can minimize and maximize it as needed but
do not close it out while playing the game. If your game slows down or glitches, select the Java console window so that it is the top window on your computer
screen and then press "x" on your keyboard. This clears your cache and your game should return to normal without having to completely exit your browser and
return. Some rarely will have to press "x" after following these steps. You should now be able to play quality games of Nertz without interruption.

*Sometimes the AOL server, your local server, or the Pogo server gets interrupted and freezes you out. There is nothing we can do about that, but it does not
happen very often.

Issue # 2. I am trying the "Play Nertz Now" link and all it does it gives me an orange screen that reads, "The SNS Server is
processing..." but it just stays like that. What can I do?

This usually occurs when you are already logged into AOL, and
you are attempting a link from another site.

Try going here,
AOL.com ,and see if you have the
option to sign out. If so, sign out and try the link here at playnertz.com again.
You should be able to log back in from here without any problems.

Or if you prefer, you can play by
going to this link,
Solitaire Race 100 point room page, and
scrolling down until you see the NNA Member room. Click it and you should be
able to enter the room without the error screen.

*This screen has appeared (very rarely) even while playing the game
or attempting to log in directly from AOL. If this happens try refreshing
your pages or logging out of AOL completely then restarting your browser.
Then go directly to the game to log back in.
